My Birthday OOTD

Hello and welcome to my blog! It was my birthday yesterday, and of course I had to dress up, even if it was just for a pub dinner! So, today I will be giving you a run down on my birthday outfit…

The Dress

Cath Kidston or Cath Kidston?

I found this dress in the battleground and claustrophobia trigger (cue the Gemma Collins clip) that is the topshop sales rack. My first thought was that it was so kitsch and Cath Kidston-y that I had to buy it. Although this dress cannot be layered, it in one that is versatile in itself (See Five versatile outfits from a single dress for more), as it can be worn with a pair of sandals or heels in the summer, and paired with tights and ankle boots in the winter. Although at first I was weary of the fact that it did not cinch in the waist, I was quite shocked to see how flattering the fit of it was and I expect it shall be on everybody (and I especially love the keyhole detail at the back!). The cut is gorgeous and the fact that it is petite is perfect for us short girlies, but probably not for the six foot stunners who will most certainly flash a bum cheek or two with this one!

The shoes

Of course I had to wear my most favourite shoes – the pink docs. I adore how cute these shoes are, as well as the fact that they are quite different and alternative due to the punk style. I think its always good to spice things up and go for a bold colour (or in this case pastel), as they are very eye catching and I have gotten the most compliments on these – even from a workman in the street! Just make sure the colour goes with lots of things in your wardrobe and you will be good to go.

The accessories

I wore the dress with two lovely gifts I received for my birthday. The necklace is so stunning and different to anything else I have seen on the market and is my signature style – pearls! I also wore my pink DKNY leather bag I received as a gift and I am so in love! I had really wanted an investment bag that would last me a very long time, however do not feel like you need to buy the most expensive bag on the market, just whatever your budget can stretch to. I absolutely love these gifts and I cannot be more excited to wear them in the future!

In conclusion…

I had a wonderful birthday and appreciate all the kind words, cards and presents that I received on the day, they made me very happy! Thank you for reading my blog and as always feel free to leave suggestions, likes, shares – I will be very grateful for them.

XOXO
